Google, Bing and DuckDuckgo are all search engines which allow humans to find websites on the internet. Humans type **keywords** into search engines to find websites they need. If you're searching for a computer repair company in Melbourne, you might use the keywords **"Computer Repair Melbourne"**. .. highlights:: **SEO is the process of optimising your website so that it appears as the first result on these search engines for a specific set of keywords, also known as a search term.** Every search engine works in a similar way: 1. Download your website 2. Look through the HTML and determine which keywords your site is relevant to 3. Rank your website against every other website for each keyword 4. Take some data from your website and use it for the search results page, such as a title and introduction paragraph.
